Hi guys,

Want cupcakes for this weekend? I’ll have a booth at the 2nd edition of the Sustainable Food & Art Marketplace TODAY, 22 Saturday from 12:00-20:00 at the Circle Gallery at Kerkstraat 67 in Amsterdam.

Flavours at the booth: The Joan, Drunk & Salty, Lemon Raspberry, Chocoholics, Mexican Hot Chocolate and Autumn Spice (a new gluten-free sweet potato spiced cupcake with salted caramel buttercream).

Introducing the Real Joan

This is my baking inspiration. My very lovely Grandma Joan. She is the best “gramma” and her pies are the best I’ve ever tasted. And I’m not just saying that. It’s the TRUTH. Here we are celebrating my 31st birthday with my favourite pie of hers, the ultimate coconut cream pie. The worst part of this pie? Having to share it with my aunts and cousins!

My Joan cupcake uses the exact same recipe (well, the meringue and the coconut cream, not the crust) as my Grandma’s.

The coming month or two is a very busy time for ol’ Nomzies and I wanted to list the dates when I will definitely be unavailable to bake:

I hope I won’t be disappointing too many of you, but this is a one-woman show and this lady needs to pay the bills with her writing job (and travel a bit too).

Going to a Land Down Under

Hi cupcake lovers,

I’ve been open for nearly a year now, baking cupcakes and meeting lovely new people along the way. Thank you to all of my customers, friends, word-spreaders, and fans and followers on Facebook and Twitter for making Cupcakes by Nomzilla a success in 2011.

I’ve just finished baking my last order of 2011. Mr. Nomzilla and I are travelling to Australia for a much-anticipated (and well deserved) vacation.

Nomzilla will be closed for business from 18 December to 16 January 2012.

I wish you all happy holidays and a fantastic new year!

I’m baaa-aaaack

After basking in the sun and heat for three glorious weeks in Canada, Nomzilla has returned to er, a rather damp and grey Amsterdam.

Yes, it seems summer is nearing an end in the Netherlands. This means I’ll be revising the Nomzilla menu and replacing the seasonal summer flavours with new autumn flavours.

Nomzilla’s on Vacation

Hi everyone! Just wanted to let you know that Nomzilla will be out of baking action for a few weeks. This tasty cupcake will be celebrating her 30th birthday with friends and family in Canada – where it’s actually summer.

I will be on vacation from 30 July – 21 August.

I will be checking my orders while in Canada, so feel free to contact me for any orders after 21 August.
