About Nomzilla

Oh hi! Welcome to my little cupcake empire. My name is Amanda, and I’m a Canadian expat living in Amsterdam. I come from a line of bakers; my gramma Joan is probably the world’s best pie baker (and that’s no lie).

My baking speciality is cupcakes.

After baking thousands of cupcakes for friends, family, colleagues, random strangers and several ad-hoc catering clients over the years, I took the step to “come out” and offer my services to my fellow cupcake-lovers in Amsterdam.

Now, a lot of people have told me that my cupcakes “are the best they’ve ever had.” I think this is because:

a) I love cupcakes. I love eating them. I love baking them.
b) I know my ingredients and I only use the good stuff
c) I don’t shirk the butter – only real buttercream here baby
d) I’m flexible and creative. Want your cupcake vegan? No problem!

I bake my cupcakes in my spare time – evenings and weekends, and the occassional early morning. I hope that one day I can make a living doing what I love, but until then, I’ll feed my urge to share the cupcake love through Nomzilla.

BTW – What’s a “Nom”?

A “nom” is a word that made its way into the internet lexicon thanks to the lolcat/icanhascheezburger/cuteoverload phenomena. It is a sound that you make when you eat something that you really, really, REALLY love.

And Nomzilla is the NOM-ster of cupcakes!
